What is recorded here

Marked as a fulacht fia only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and located in a slight dip on a gentle E-facing slope with a small N-S stream c. 100m to the E. It was described in 1940 as a mound of charred stones and balck earth (diam. c. 23m; max. H c. 1.5m) (OSFM). It was not visible in 1987 at ground level in reclaimed pasture. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 22 November, 2012
