What is recorded here

The site (Wth 1.06m; D 0.27m) consists of a band of mixed brushwood up to six pieces deep. The pieces lie mostly in a N-S direction with two pieces at a right angle to these, however, the orientation of the site in uncertain. The site is deepest towards the SW end and slopes slightly to a thinner deposit to the NE. A substantial amount of peat occurs between the elements suggesting there may be two sites present. It is possible that the lowermost part of this site is linked to SMR WM039-222---- located 0.15m to the NE and SMR WM039-198---- further to the NE. The site is in moderate condition and sits in moderately humified Sphagnum and Eriophorum peat. This is one of ten closely situated sites along a 12m length of this drain face including SMR WM039-196---- and SMR WM039-222---- adjacent to the NE and SMR WM039-225---- 0.7m to the SW.
