Monument surveyed by ASI in 1971 and described as following; 'A small circular uneven enclosure (WM032-048----) bounded by a steep scarp with very slight remains of an earthen bank on its upper edge and with slight remains of a fosse at its foot. In the edge of this and partly outside it are the remains of the stone foundations of a small rectangular hut (int. dims. 5.3m ENE-WSW; 3.3m SSE-NNW). A local farmer of the townland remembers when people were living in the house within the rath about 1850. There were about 25 houses in the townland at that time and the local farmer stated that the series of depression and small banks near the rath bounded the small plots of land they had. The rath is largely overgrown with ash, thorn trees, briars etc.. Sited on a small prominent hillock and surrounded by gently undulating land of average to good pasture and tillage. Good views' (SMR File 24/06/1971). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 18 February 2013
