What is recorded here

Situated on an irregular-shaped rise (300ft/91m OD) in undulating pasture, with good views of the surrounding landscape. Ringfort (WM031-071----) conjoined to SW. Annotated 'Forts' on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map and depicted as one of a pair of conjoined oval-shaped earthworks. Annotated ‘Rathbane’ on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map and depicted as a roughly oval-shaped earthwork with a small rectangular-shaped structure (WM031-071001-) in NE quadrant. Levelled monument described in 1973 as no surface remains visible. Levelled ringfort is visible today as a small hillock with vague traces of a cropmark on Digital Globe aerial photography.
