Situated on a rise, in pasture, on the E edge of Athlone town. Depicted on the revised 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly oval-shaped earthwork (approx. dims. 45m E-W; 40m N-S). Levelled monument described in 1973 as no surface remains visible. Levelled monument is visible as a cropmark defined by two concentric rings of differential growth which are visible from NW-N-E-S-SSW, on Digital Globe aerial photography.
