What is recorded here

Unlocated burial within the townland of Lynn (Cahill & Sikora 2011, vol. 2, 522). The files of the National Museum of Ireland records that in July 1961 portions of a human skull were found in a bog drain which flows into the river Brosna, at Lynn, near Mullingar. The remains were apparently embedded in mud and notcied by a local man while walking along the riverbank. The remains were not acquired (NMI File). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 08 December 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
