Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating pasture, with extensive views to W, NW and N. Monument described in 1963 as a roughly subtriangular-shaped tree-planted earthwork enclosed by a slight bank and external fosse. Levelled monument described in 1971 as a roughly oval-shaped area (dims. 33.5m NW-SE; 32.4m NE-SW) defined from ESE-S-W-N by a gentle undulation in the ground and elsewhere by a curve in the modern field fence. There are other gentle undulations both inside and outside the monument area. The interior has a gentle NE-facing slope.
