What is recorded here

Situated on the S-facing slope of a rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views to NW and SE. Monument described in 1971, 1977 and 1989 as a small, roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 25m N-S) enclosed by an inner bank, an intervening fosse and an outer bank. The inner bank is almost reduced to a scarp from NE-E-S-SSW. It has traces of internal and external stone facing at NE. It has been quarried WSW-W and at N and the bank exterior has been disturbed by livestock at E. The fosse and low, fragmentary outer bank are visible from NW-N-E. The original entrance is not recognisable. The interior has a S-facing slope and there is a house site (WM025-097001-) in the SW quadrant. Monument placed on the Register of Historic Monuments on the 28/02/1989. See attached profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI. Compiled by Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien. Date of upload: 23 September 2019
