Possible site indicated as 'Ruin' on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map, a letter from Fenwick to Larcom in the OS memoranda states that this ruin is located 'close to fence NW of Trig. Station a small enclosure of stone and lime & is evidently ancient'. Site visited in 1983 and described as 'The site is on the NW shoulder of a ridge on the N side of the hill of Usnagh. There is a scatter of boulders, some quite large and and some bedrock breaking through the field surface. However, these form no definite or clearly definable pattern and there is no trace of a building or of the foundations of a building. A stone field fence from E-W immediately to S of where the 'ruin' is indicated. The site commands a spectacular view to E, N, NW. ' (SMR file 12 July 1983). A small building indicated on the first edition of the OS 6-inch map may be the monument described in the OS memoranda.
