What is recorded here

Situated on top of a rocky knoll, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. Monument described in 1970s as a subcircular-shaped area (dims. 22m E-W) enclosed by a bank, an intervening berm and an external bank. The inner bank (H 1.5m-2m) is relatively well preserved. A sloping berm (approx. Wth 4-8m) from NNE-E-S-W-NNW is located in the intervening area between the two banks. It is quite flat and regular from NNW-N-NNE, is irregular from S-W and is widest from N-E. A much disturbed outer bank has a number of boulders dumped against it all around. The interior rises gently towards the centre and there are stony outcrops in the N quadrant. Compiled by Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien. Date of upload: 27 August 2019
