What is recorded here

Situated on a slight rise, on the SW side of a hill, in pasture. Monument described as a roughly oval-shaped area (dims. 32.6m NE-SW; 26m NW-SE) enclosed by a low earth and stone bank, an intervening fosse and an outer bank with slight remains of an entrance at NE. The low inner bank is visible from W-N-NE and has been reduced to a scarp (H 1.3m) from E-S. The inner bank/scarp is damaged from NE-E-ESE and a portion of it has been dug away at E. The fosse is only visible from WSW-N-E. The narrow, steep outer bank is visible from NW-N-ENE and is almost completely levelled at S. The interior has a gentle ENE-facing slope and bears rock outcrop. There are no internal features visible. Compiled by Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien. Date of upload: 21 August 2019
