Situated on a slight natural rise, in low-lying, wet pasture. Depicted on the 1913 ed. OS 6-inch map as ‘Doon Castle (Site of)’. Monument described in 1971 as a large subrectangular-shaped enclosure located within the S half of ringwork (WM024-010----). It is enclosed by a low, broad grass-covered bank and divided internally by faint traces of a grass-covered earth and stone bank. Outline of monument clearly visible on oblique aerial photographs (CUCAP AOY093/094)taken 12/07/1966. Compiled by Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien. Date of upload: 30 July 2019
