What is recorded here

Situated on a slight rise, in fairly level pasture, with extensive views in all directions. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a subcircular-shaped earthwork. Levelled monument described in 1970 as a much disturbed roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 35m E-W; 33m N-S) enclosed by a low scarp that has been modified when incorporated into a modern field fence at SW. A field fence is visible at the base of the scarp from ESE-SSE. There is no visible trace of an external fosse or entrance feature. The interior has a gentle SW-facing slope and several slight depressions which are due to modern disturbance. Monument described in 1980 as completely levelled except for a slight rise of ground defined by vague traces of a low, scarp visible from N-E. Levelled monument is visible today as a faint roughly oval-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe aerial photography. This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.
