What is recorded here

Situated on a prominent rise, in gently undulating pasture. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork. Ringfort (WM020-039----) lies c. 90m to W. Monument described in 1970 as a roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 35m NW-SE; 34m NE-SW) enclosed by a bank with traces of a wide, shallow outer fosse, causewayed entrance at SSE where there is a gap (Wth at top 69.9m; basal Wth 2.5m) in the inner bank and a corresponding ramp (Wth at top 3m; overall Wth 6.2m; H 1.1m) across the fosse. The bank is high and steep on the exterior and is almost reduced to a scarp on the interior. A modern disturbance gap is visible at W. The interior has a gentle ESE-facing slope with traces of cultivation ridges running WNW-ESE. Monument is visible today as a well preserved roughly circular-shaped earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
