What is recorded here

According to the Urban Survey of Westmeath (Bradley et. al. 1985, 121), ‘Brady (1940, 99) suggests that the 'tanner’s dry house' in Dowdalls’s yard may have been used as a church from c. 1690-1730. This was located by tradition near the Presentation convent’ in the N quadrant of Mullingar town. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien and R. Barrett Date of upload: 03 June 2014

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
