Situated on a low rise near the summit of a high ridge, with good views to N and E. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork. Depicted as a broad oval-shaped earthwork, delimited by a bank and annotated ‘fort’. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a slightly modified oval-shaped earthwork (approx. dims. 42m E-W; 41m N-S). An OPW field report from 1965 described the monument as a roughly circular rath enclosed by a bank and having an uneven interior. Levelled rath is described by the ASI in 1970 as no surface remains visible. Levelled monument is visible today on Digital Globe aerial photography as the arc of a partial cropmark of differential growth defining the perimeter from NW-E.
