What is recorded here

Situated on a slight rise, in gently undulating and hilly pasture, with limited views of the surrounding landscape. Outline of rectangular building aligned NNE-SSW standing in centre of ringfort (WM018-086----) is depicted on 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map. In centre of ringfort are the remains of a rectangular-shaped house site (dims. 7m NE-SW; 5.4m NW-SE) defined by a broad bank (Wth 1.6m; H 0.2-1m) of earth and large stones. Some internal stone facing is also visible. Probable entrance gap at E. Monument is visible as a rectangular-shaped tree-planted area on Digital Globe aerial photography. See attached plan of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI. Compiled by: Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien Date of upload: 05 February 2019
