On the 1657 Down Survey parish map of Ballymorin the medieval church (WM017-100---) is depicted standing just N of the S boundary of the glebe land with a house standing to S of church in area where the building 'Almoritia' is annotated on current ed. OS 6-inch map. The terrier of the 1657 Down Survey map of Ballymorin parish stated that in this townland there was a 'House & Church' (NLI, MS 723-4). In 1640 this house stood on lands belonging to Lord Viscount Netterville (ibid.).
This house was visited in 1983 and the buildings there were described as fairly modern dating from the 18th-19th centuries with no evidence of any building dating from the 17th century or earlier. The precise location of the house depicted on the 1657 Down Survey map has not been identified and it is possible that the house may have been located in the fields surrounding 'Almoritia'. Without further field evidence the site of this house marked on the 1657 Down Survey maps remains unlocated within the townland of Ballymorin.
