What is recorded here

The precise location of a medieval mill in the townland of Inchmore has not been identified. This mill is mentioned in 1625 in an Inquisition Post Mortem into the estate of the deceased Theobald Dillon which lists as part of his possessions 'half of the island of Inshmore in the said lough, containing fifteen acres, with a water-mill called Mollinglassan' (Lodge 1789, 179). The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
