What is recorded here

Swan (1988, 14) recorded that the small enclosure around the graveyard (WM011-099001-) of Templeoran Church (WM011-099----) represented the remains of an Early Christian ecclesiastical enclosure. The post-1700 graveyard boundary is approximately circular in plan and may indicate the line of a monastic enclosure. There are no earthworks visible in the surrounding fields around Templeoran graveyard. The circular shaped of the graveyard is clearly visible on aerial photographs taken in 1971 by Cambridge University (CUCAP BGH109/110). Compiled by: Caimin O’Brien Date of upload: 25 August 2015
