What is recorded here

Situated on low-lying grassland with restricted views. Depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as a sub-rectilinear shaped enclosure and annotated as a ‘fort’. Depicted as an antiquity on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map and as an irregular shaped field on subsequent editions of the OS maps. A field fence which formed the S side of this enclosure has been removed. The field fences which form the N, E & W enclosing element of the monument still survive today as field boundaries. Compiled by: Frank Coyne and Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 9 June 2017

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
