Situated on a ridge in grassland which slopes away to the N & S. not depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map. A large D-shaped area (diam. 47.5m E-W) enclosed by a straight field fence running E-W at N (max. Wth 3m), and a straight NNW-SSE field fence (Wth 2m; H 0.2m) consisting of an earth-covered stone wall, and from N-E-S a curving field fence of similar construction. The interior is domed. There is a local tradition of an opening to a ‘cave’ in the interior. Doubtful antiquity.
