Wall memorial dedicated to Robert Nugent and his wife Eleanor who died in 1683. Sandstone memorial stone (dims. L 1m; H 0.36m) located off centre to S in W face of E wall of St. Mary's parish church (WM008-097002-). Narrow sandstone slab with worn incised inscription: THE MONUMENT WAS BUILT BY ROBERT NUGENT/ [SON TO JAMES FITZ CHRISTOP]HER OF BELEA/ [IN THE COUNTY OF MEATH ESQ. FOR] INTERRI[NG OF HIMSELF/ AND HIS SUCCESSO]RS AND/ [IN SPECIAL MEMORY OF HIS WIFE] E[LI]N[OR] N[UGENT/ OF BRACKLEN ESQRE WHO DI]ED/ [THE XTH DAY OF XBER ANNO D[O]MI 1683] (Bradley et. al. 1985, 84). The missing letters in brackets were taken from Isaac Butler's reading of the memorial in the late 19th century (Butler 1888-91, 508).
