What is recorded here

Situated on a slight natural rise in undulating grassland with excellent views to N, and restricted by higher land in other directions. Bog 330m to N. Ringfort (WM008-064---) 280m to SW. A raised sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 32m N-S; 30m E-W) enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank and a narrow shallow external fosse. The fragmentary bank is best preserved from SSW-W. The external fosse is visible from NNW-N-ENE, and has been deepened at NE. The interior has a general slight slope from SW-NE and dips slightly towards the perimeter at NW & SE. There are several slight depressions and low rises in the interior, but do not form any definite pattern. In the NW quadrant of the interior is a shallow rectangular depression (dims. 10.6m NW-SE; 2.7m NE-SW) with upcast from this feature forming slight banks along its upper edge which appear to be the remains of post-medieval quarrying rather than possible hut sites.
