The precise location of the medieval mill of Kiltoom which belonged to Lady Glancoe has not been identified. In 1647 a fine of £15 was levied on a group of mills in Co. Westmeath to pay Captain Ignatius Nugent of the Irish Confederate Army. The sum of £1 17s 4d. was levied on 'Lady Glancoe, or same, one mill at Kiltoome' (Cal. S.P. Ire., 624). The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
