Situated on a natural terrace in an area of pasture-land on the W face of a high hill overlooking Lough Derravaragh 110m to the W. Its original location would have been on the edge of the lake shoreline prior to drainage works. Levelled earthwork (WM007-019----) 120m to NW, crannóg (WM007-022----) 100m to S, levelled earthwork (WM007-027----) 160m to SE. No surface remains visible of levelled monument. Depicted as an oval-shaped earthwork (approx. diam. 38m N-S; 26m E-W) the S end of which stands adjacent to the shoreline of Lough Derravarragh on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map. Levelled monument not visible on 2005 OSI aerial photograph but is visible as a very faint crop mark on the Digital Globe Aerial Photograph taken November 2011.
