What is recorded here

Situated on a slight natural rise in gently undulating pasture-land. Ringfort (WM006-003----) 400m to E. A slightly raised sub-circular area (approx. diam. 27m N-S) enclosed by a very low bank with slight remains of an external fosse, and traces of a poorly defined outer bank and external fosse. The outer bank and external fosse are intersected at SE by a post-1700 field fence running NE-SW. The slightly raised interior has traces of cultivation ridges running across the monument. The profile of the earthwork and its appearance on the Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011 may suggest that this monument is a ring-barrow rather than a ringfort. Gap in outer bank and fosse at NNW visible on Digital Globe aerial photograph may be an entrance feature Compiled by: Frank Coyne & Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 20 December 2016
