What is recorded here

Situated on natural rise of ground on poorly drained grassland with Lough Doo 90m to SE. Motte and bailey castle (WM004-001---) 520m to N. A sub-circular slightly raised area (approx. diam. 25m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a poorly preserved earth and stone bank (approx. Wth 4.5m), enclosed by a shallow fosse visible from W-NW only with a low bank outside this. No trace of a fosse on other sides of the ringfort. A gap (Wth 1.9m) in the bank at NE may represent the entrance. The outline of a circular hut site (WM004-002001-) is visible in the NW quadrant. Depressions and hollows in the uneven interior appear to be due to modern disturbance. An earthen bank of unknown antiquity sub-divides the NW quadrant of the ringfort interior.
