Situated on a level spur overlooking the Avoca valley to the E. The church is shown as a rectangular structure on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. It was located c. 60m SW of the now abandoned 19th-century church and there is now no trace at ground level. The graveyard is quadrangular, defined by a modern stone wall, and contains a number of late 18th and 19th-century headstones. The road which curves around the graveyard may represent the line of the original enclosure.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
