What is recorded here

Situated on a gentle S-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 33m) defined from E-S-W by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.4-3m; int. H 0.4-1m; ext. H 0.8-1.5m) which has drystone facing and has been incorporated into the adjoining field boundaries. At the N the site is defined by a low earthen bank (Wth 2.4-3m; H 0.6-0.8m). No indication of an external fosse. The entrance (Wth 2m) is at the NE. Traces of a hut or house foundation (diam. 4.5m) are visible in the NE quadrant and there is a low mound (dims. c. 6m x 3.5m) inside the bank at the NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
