What is recorded here

This is the record for the burnt mound excavated by Yvonne Whitty (E3229) on the N11 road improvement scheme. A trough, a posthole, a platform and a group of pits were associated with the burnt mound. The trough had a lining of oak and alder planks. The wooden platform was made of oak planks. Two radiocarbon dates from the platform wood produced a date in the middle Bronze Age. (Whitty 2009h) Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 21 January 2013
