Unlocated holy well within the townland of Ballygobban. According to Lynch (1994, 639) there is a holy well known as ‘St Gobbin’s Well’ in the townland of Ballygobban that is mentioned in the 1930s Irish Folklore Commission, Schools Manuscript Collection (IFC S 920: 91/97; IFC S 921: 178; IFC S 1135: 96-7 ). The folklore manuscripts recorded the tradition that the well was ‘blessed by St Gobbin. Even in the driest weather does no dry up and the water is always cool. I have heard it said that a drink of water would keep off the hunger for a whole day’ (Lynch 1994, 639-40).
