This is the record for the burnt mound excavated by Yvonne Whitty (E3249) on the N11 road improvement scheme. The mound showed two phases of activity. The earliest phase comprised a pit, hearth and postholes and dated to the early Bronze Age. The second phase comprised a trough, and numerous pits and hearths. This phase dated to the middle/late Bronze Age. Both phases were dated by radiocarbon dates. (Whitty 2009q)
