What is recorded here

On a small level break on a marked SE-facing slope. Hachured on the 1st. ed. 'OS 6-inch' map and described in the OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1928, 120-21) as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 45m) defined by an earthen bank (H. c. 1.20m). No visible surface indication was noted when inspected by ASI in 1990. Ronan (1928, 152) suggested that it was levelled in 1830. Local tradition suggested that a church (WI031-001----) stood within the enclosure. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 12 July 2013
