What is recorded here

Situated on a gentle E-facing slope in parkland. Two-storey five-bay house built in 1697 by Thomas Acton with additional wings added in 1848. It is now derelict, with most of its interior features removed (Craig 1976, 64-5; Bence-Jones 1978, 174). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 December 2008
