Situated in the bank of a stream 80m SW of a graveyard (WI028-006001-). A small stream feeds a roughly circular stone-lined basin (diam. 1m; D 1.2m) which overflows into a larger stream. The name means 'the well of the old church' (sean chill).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
