What is recorded here

Situated on a break in a marked NE-facing slope on the lower slopes of Baltinglass Hill and c. 100m SW of the site of another ringfort (WI027-012----). Circular area (diam. 26.5m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.5m; max. H 2m) and an external fosse (Wth 4m; max. D 1.2m) poorly preserved at the NE. A gap in the bank at the NE may be the original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 December 2008
