What is recorded here

Situated on a gentle S-facing slope overlooking the Vartry River. A nave and chancel church (dims. 12.5m ESE-WNW; 5.35m NNE-SSW) of uncoursed rubble (wall H 1m; T 0.85m). No indication of a door or windows. Situated within a possibly earlier enclosure (WI025-001001-) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3m). This is enclosed by iron railings except at the S where it is cut by a modern fence. It is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a square enclosure and it contains a number of late eighteenth-century headstones. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 20 October 2012
