What is recorded here

Situated on level ground between the Avonbeg River and the steep valley side to the NE. An oval enclosure (dims. 40m NW-SE; 30m NE-SW) defined by a wide fosse (Wth 7-8m; D 1.4m) at the W and SE and by a natural slope at the N. There is a causeway (Wth 3m) at the S. Said by Price (1945, 20) to be the site of an early church. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
