Stone Cross — Brockagh

National Monument in state ownership No. 134. Situated on level ground facing onto the triangle between the Glendalough access road and the road to the Wicklow Gap. An upright slab with a Latin cross in relief on the S face with a small Latin cross in false relief below the left transom. Described by Leask (1950, 41) as an ‘upright slab, 11 inches [0.27m] thick, carved on the south side with a rough Latin cross in relief beside the shaft of which, on the dexter side, is a small sunk cross of the same shape’. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
