Standing stone in Eadestown North

On a gentle SSW-facing slope in an area of bog at the base of Spinans Hill which dominates the view to the SE. Good views to N and S with Tuckmill Hill visible to the SW. In a raised area in very marshy terrain. A tall, narrow, granite standing stone (H 1.71m; H of NE face 1.5m), roughly hewn, orientated NE–SW (dims. at base: 0.26-0.28m NE-SW; 0.2-0.25m NW-SE). It is broader at the top (dims. 0.27m NE-SW; 0.3m NW-SE) where it is angled sharply at 45◦ rising (by 0.17m) to the SW. It has a concave SE face. A slight depression around the stone was probably caused by cattle poaching. A Linkardstown-type cist (WI021-057----) lies c. 120m to the NNE.
