What is recorded here

Situated in marshy ground on a gentle N/NW-facing slope. A natural spring recently provided with stone housing. The well is traditionally associated with the baptism of children and the pattern days were on the 24th to the 26th of June (OS Name Books). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
