What is recorded here

Situated on a marked to steep E-facing slope overlooking Luggala lake. A level circular platform (diam. 7m). The W and E sides are defined by steep scarps with a discontinuous revetment of small boulders on the W side. Evidence of a collapsed earth and stone bank occurs on the E scarp. The entrance was probably on the N or S side. Other hut sites occur to the N (WI012-021----, WI012-021001-, WI012-022----). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 December 2008
