What is recorded here

Described by Corlett (2011, 26-8) as lying in an area of glacially strewn granite boulders overlooking Valleymount and the Poulaphuca Reservoir to the E. A plain, unfinished and very large prostrate cross (H 5.1m; Wth of arms c. 2.2m; Wth of shaft 0.67m; T of shaft 0.6m) was carved on the flat but broke, snapping just below the head, presumably when being turned to complete the carving of the underside. Its closest parallels are St Mark's Cross at Burgage More (WI005-047001-) and St Kevin's Cross at Glendalough (WI023-008013-). (Price 1953, 209) Compiler: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 23 June 2011
