What is recorded here

Part of a complex of prehistoric sites (WI005-079----, WI005-084----, WI005-081-----WI005-083----, WI005-110----) on the lower western slopes in Lugnagun overlooking Blessington Reservoir. One of two standing stones (H 1.37m), originally located approximately 15m N of Carrig cairn (WI005-084----), removed by the landowner some years ago. The standing stone marked a coarse urn pit burial. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 December 2008

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
