Now covered by Blessington Reservoir. The name refers to a trout (Tobar an Bhric) which was said to live in the well. According to the OS Name Books invalids drank from the well and left rags on the surrounding bushes. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
