What is recorded here

Identified from an aerial survey by Markus Casey who described this possible monument as one of two large rectangular headlands (see also WA032-046----) at right angles to one another on Ballyvoyle head. This westernmost promontory fort has a faint depression running across the neck of the headland suggesting that it was defended. The area consists of fertile pasture and tillage fields enclosed by stone walls. (Casey 2001) Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 24 November 2021
