Archaeological excavation (96E0387) immediately E of the house known as Garvan's church (WA031-040002-) revealed the remains of a burnt mound in a spread of broken and burnt stones (dims. c. 12m E-W; c. 5.5m N-S) that had been cut by numerous clay pits. It produced a C14 date of 540-660 Cal. AD (Pollock 1998b). (Pollock 1997d)
