What is recorded here

Located E of Tramore, in the N face of sand dunes along the N side of Burrow Island, in an area where the grass covered on the dune has been eroded. Two other middens (WA026-066----; WA026-086----) have been recorded on Burrow Island, c. 650m and c. 500m to the WSW respectively. Identified in 2018 (pers. comm. Robert Hennessy 5 March 2018). The midden forms a black layer (L c. 1.5m; H c. 0.1m), c. 2m above the level of the beach, in a face which is subject to erosion. It consists of broken shells and rounded flat stones (diam. c. 0.13m) in a black matrix.
