What is recorded here

There was a church dedicated to Murina, the sister of St. Baramedan who was the patron of Kilbarrymeaden church (WA025-040001-). Murina's church was close to the sea in Kilmurrin, and traces of the ruin were still evident (Ryland 1824, 271). While a field called Relig is known (Mooney and Kavanagh 1977, 19) the location of any graveyard is not precisely known. Compiled by: Michael Moore. Date of upload: 20th May, 2011.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
